Here’s why other Fellows are excited about ODBD

Communities of BD leaders are as rare as they are valuable. I'm excited to be a Founding Fellow in On Deck's BD Fellowship and for the access to partnership professionals it will provide. Talking through shared experiences with a group of thoughtful peers is a great way to level-up any career.

Ryan Freeman, Head of Enterprise Partnerships & BD, DoorDash

I'm so honored to join On Deck's inaugural Business Development fellowship. I look forward to learning from other BD leaders and sharing knowledge on growth strategies. BD & partnerships are all about building meaningful relationships and collaborating to drive value together — I'm excited to connect with the ODBD cohort to help each other accelerate our goals.

Jeanne Ahn, Head of Partnerships, Remote

I'm excited to be an inaugural member of the On Deck BD fellowship. This is a meaningful opportunity to learn and grow alongside other leaders and executives through curated programming.

Bradley Feinstein, Senior Partner Manager, Amazon Web Services

"I'm honored to be part of the inaugural ODBD fellowship! As BD professionals, we're often building the parachute after the jump, the ODBD community is just the place we need to learn from each other and formulate best practices. Looking forward to openly discussing successes and learnings - from hiring, managing teams to creating revenue efficient deals."

Naveed Lalani, Head of Partnerships, Career Karma

I'm excited to find a brain trust of partnerships and BD leaders in ODBD. As our team and partnerships portfolio scale, I'm finding myself in greater need of just-in-time advice from peers and leaders who've grown revenue lines and managed global BD teams. I also love that I can build direct connections with my counterparts at other orgs we'd love to collaborate with in the future.

Lauren Hoffman, Head of Partnerships, On Deck

“The skills necessary to excel in BD are only useful with an active and engaged community of peers to collaborate and help advance each other's goals. Thrilled to be part of On Deck’s inaugural Business Development Fellowship and excited to continue growing with this crew!”

Michael Berner, Head of Strategic Partnerships, Lambda School

“I'm thrilled to join ODBD as a Founding Fellow. Connections are the spark for innovative ideas and I love the communities they have been building. Looking forward to engaging with peers and other thought leaders.”

Daniel Rabinovich, Head of Partnerships, Virgin Voyages

"I'm thrilled to join the inaugural On Deck BD Fellowship. I'm looking forward to being part of a meaningful community of leaders building partnerships across products, companies, and sectors. Relationships are such a key part of BD, and I can't wait to get to know the speakers and the brain trust that will be part of this cohort."

Mark Monro, Partnerships, First Round Capital

"I'm thrilled to be a part of the inaugural On Deck Business Development fellowship.  I look forward to joining a community of BD professionals who can bounce ideas off each other and push each other's thinking.  My favorite parts of the Business Development profession are that it allows you to work with many different people who bring a range of perspectives, that it pushes you to keep learning, and that it encourages you to think creatively about how to drive value -- On Deck is the embodiment of all of these things."

Alison Lyness, Head of Enterprise Business Development, Poshmark

Ready to apply?

On Deck Business Development is a lifelong, invite-only community with a 4-week immersive onboarding to help you build lasting relationships from Day 1.
Onboarding is done in intimate cohorts every 4 months. Apply by December 19 to join the first ODBD cohort kicking off on January 27, 2022.

Who should apply?

To be a good fit for ODDB, you are probably:

  • A VP, Director,or Head of Business Development / Partnerships with 8+ years of relevant experience who would benefit from the authentic relationships forged with other strategic-minded leaders.
  • Open to seeking the support, coaching, and mentorship required to scale yourself and your company.
  • Willing to share your experiences, challenge assumptions, expand your perspectives, and raise the bar for yourself and others. You’re committed to lifelong learning and a spirit of service to others.
I already have a great network and limited time for other commitments. What can ODBD provide that I can’t find elsewhere?

ODBD is a community unlike any you’ve come across - it connects top-tier business development leaders from all over the world who are innovating through strategic partnerships and building world class teams for which playbooks don’t exist, and who would benefit most from learning and growing together.

We curate all programming and connections to maximize your value and time spent during the fellowship. You can dive into everything the fellowship has to offer, or opt in only to what best suits your goals and time.

Whether you are a VP of Business Development at a large company, or a Head of Partnerships at a start-up, ODBD will provide you with the opportunity to exchange practical frameworks and build deep connections with a highly-curated group of peers.

What is the time commitment?

Expect 2-3 hours per week of programming for the first 4 weeks (it’s up to you how much you join!), followed by 1-4 hours/month for the remainder of the year. The fellowship is designed for you to opt-in to what suits your goals and time. We recognize that everyone in the community is a time-scarce and we aim to accommodate as best as we can while respecting our fellows’ time.

Are there scholarships or financing options available?

Our goal is to make the Fellowship accessible to the absolute best talent, no matter their financial situation. Please reach out to us at [email protected] to discuss your personal situation.

All Fellows have the option to pay in four monthly installments (with no interest or additional charges). We also have a limited number of scholarships available thanks to our Access Fund. Information about scholarship applications will be provided to accepted Fellows closer to the kickoff date.

Is this a fully remote program? Can I participate from anywhere in the world?

Yes - ODBD will be run entirely remotely. This enables participation from all corners of the world. We've mastered the playbook for building engaging remote communities through multiple On Deck fellowships and will apply the same approach here.

As the year progresses, we’ll be hosting offline events like dinners, small gatherings, and retreats in major cities, but the core Fellowship will remain a remote-first experience.

What happens after the first year of membership?

After one year of membership, you will have the opportunity to renew your membership. If you choose not to renew your membership, you will no longer have access to On Deck platforms, networks, and content. To regain access, you’ll have to re-apply for a future fellowship.

Is there a deadline I need to apply by?

The deadline for the first cohort of ODBD is December 19.

Did we miss your question? Drop us a line and we will get back to you ASAP.
