On Deck is joining forces with Robbie Crabtree to launch On Deck Performative Speaking, a program for ambitious professionals who want to become powerful public speakers. Our curriculum combines storytelling frameworks, pop culture and an incredible community to help you become the speaker of your dreams. The first cohort kicks off early March.
We are thrilled to announce our acquisition of Performative Speaking — the course that helps ambitious professionals become powerful speakers —and we're excited to welcome Founder Robbie Crabtree to launch On Deck Performative Speaking as Program Director.
Why? It’s no secret. Being a great speaker elevates your professional and personal life.
Whether it’s a great story delivered on the stage at a TED conference or a compelling pitch to a group of investors, everyone needs to communicate clearly, confidently, and powerfully because this opens up doors and opportunities that wouldn’t be available otherwise.
Early in your career, your hard skills carry you. But then everyone reaches that glass ceiling. You have to start managing people, talking to investors, and leading a team.
Now you need to improve your soft skills and your ability to communicate. You need to speak clearly, concisely, and confidently. You need to inspire action and create connections.
The problem is you lack the right frameworks and process to get started. You’re trying to figure out everything on your own but you’re coming up short.
Enter On Deck Performative Speaking (or ODPS.)
On Deck Performative Speaking is an eight-week remote program for ambitious professionals who want to become powerful public speakers. Our curriculum combines storytelling frameworks, pop culture and an incredible community to help you become the speaker of your dreams.
As an On Deck Performative Speaking fellow, you’ll have access to:
- Deep-dive sessions focused on the fundamentals of speaking including storytelling, creating speeches, framing, conversational skills, and more.
- Live speaking opportunities to deliver speeches, pitches, and presentations with dedicated feedback from experienced orators.
- Fireside chats with some of the world's best speakers, creators and executives. .
- Office hours from partners and guests on speaking best practices across different industries.
- Full access to our Speaker’s Library, a carefully curated set of frameworks, worksheets and exercises you can use to hone your skills during the fellowship and beyond.
ODPS will be led by none other than Robbie Crabtree, trial lawyer and founder of the original Performative Speaking online course. He brings a world of experience from his legal background after managing hundreds of cases in the trenches of trial.
Robbie has honed the OPDS methodology over thousands of hours by teaching persuasive speaking to students at SMU Law School, coaching the national mock trial team and working with leaders from Apple, Google, Reddit, Facebook, venture capital firms, and more.
He built an incredible community of his own and now we're teaming up to help founders, operators and ambitious professionals amplify their voice and maximize their impact.
Think of this as the Stanford MBA and a TED training program bundled into one. But you can attend from anywhere in the world. And after your cohort completes the formal program, you'll have access to the community for life.
Whether you’re a founder aiming to paint a compelling vision for investors, an operator looking to take on a leadership role, a creator building their audience or an executive trying to make that next step into the C-suite, ODPS will help you define your personal narrative and use it to communicate your story to the world.
The Inaugural ODPS Cohort kicks off March 20. You can apply here before March 6th. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
