It’s no secret, effective investing puts you on the path to long term wealth. But what is the right way to invest? Like most things in life, it’s simple but not easy.
Investing involves more than simply putting money into the stock market; rather, it’s an interdisciplinary study of philosophy, history, and human behavior. It’s a process of logic, probability, and risk that necessarily spans the entire investment lifecycle — from saving to spending and allocating capital. Because of this, investing is both art and science, though this fact is often obscured by news cycles or the latest trends.
Today, we enjoy greater access to financial markets than ever before; this begets an endless supply of opinions and advice of how you should think about your money.
This generates a great deal of noise, and it can be hard to determine what is right for you and your personal goals. Not to mention, it is also taboo to talk about money with friends and family, which can make the investment process even more difficult.
Investing should be impactful - understanding risk, psychology, and your own preferences are far more important than any short-term volatility that rocks the markets. There are core components of the investing process that must be understood in order to truly build long term wealth.
Enter On Deck Investing (or ODI)
On Deck Investing is a ten week, remote program for investors who want to deepen their knowledge of public markets, sharpen their investor psychology, and accumulate practical tools for sustainable long term wealth creation alongside a network of thoughtful peers.
To accomplish this, we are assembling an expert-led curriculum and a supportive community to help create more powerful and informed investors. During ODI, you will:
- Expand your investment knowledge through qualitative and quantitative analyses
- Craft a personalized investment thesis by connecting your passions to your portfolio
- Access tools to craft a core strategy across saving, spending, and allocating
- Reflect on your own investor psychology and risk preferences
- Explore and implement frameworks to build long term wealth that fits your unique goals
- Engage in deep dives across different asset classes, such as art, NFTs, and collectibles
- Learn the strategies and toolkits that the most successful investors use when building their portfolios
The secret to becoming a good investor is to talk about investing — to learn, bounce ideas, and test convictions alongside a thoughtful and intentional peer network. As such, community is a core part of the ODI Fellowship. Together, we will examine market psychology, analysis, and peer-to-peer connection to think deeply about markets and drive discussion across the entire investment lifecycle.
The Inaugural ODI Cohort kicks off in June. You can apply here before April 24th. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
