Couldn't recommend this enough. If you're writing for the internet or writing in general, this is the community you never knew you needed.

Cameron Prouse

Only 1 week into's First 50 Fellowship program and I am soooo totally blown away.

Can't wait to get at it tomorrow for week 2!

Kai Faust

My experience with On Deck in 2020:

- Several deep friendships and that I expect to last a lifetime.

- Warm intros to customers, talent and advisors.

- Access to capital (Raised $100K+ during ODF6)

- $20K+ in perks (AWS, DocSend, and more)

I kinda feel like crying. So grateful.

Dipti Desai

@beondeck has created an unparalleled product, community & a loyal, authentic member base like I’ve never seen before. In my time in SV I’ve seen many attempts at creating communities large & small. On Deck is magical because the team behind it is just relentless & good people.💕

Mckay Wrigley

Last “official” @beondeck day tomorrow - I highly recommend applying for a cohort.

There are programs for anyone from founders to investors to writers to podcasters and more.

On Deck puts out great programs, you’ll connect with amazing people, and community workshops are A+.

Shiku Wangombe

Shoutout to the community for the feedback when I shared this internally.

So many people willing to help and everyone is excited to learn from each other. I love this community.

Dom Potter

For me @beondeck is so exciting because it is becoming a platform for bundling of the many strands of identity of ambitious people who want to change the world.

Derek Osgood

Ok so I promised I’d talk about On Deck (ODF6) changed my life. That’s it, that’s the tweet.

Actually, no it’s not. I’m a tweetstorm guy now (new year new me). So let’s talk ODF👇

Dave Nemetz

After a week in the @beondeck ODW1 writer fellowship, I'm pumped about the future for interdisciplinary communities. It's awesome to join a group from diverse professional backgrounds over a shared passion.

Props to @eriktorenberg for what he is building.

Joey DeBruin

Not only is community the new scarcity, it's absolutely a cold-start problem. Before @beondeck, I hated "networking." After, I have the opposite problem: too many genuinely energy-adding connections which keep branching out into more.

Luba Yudasina

One of the best decisions of the last 2 years was joining @beondeck. So grateful to witness their growth first hand ❤️

Thank you @eriktorenberg and @david__booth for building something this special!

Alexander Hugh Sam

Just finished the @beondeck kick-off session for ODW1 and 🤯.

It's the most fun I've ever had for any onboarding whatsoever. The team and fellows are amazing and can't wait to get started.

Even did some (very bad) freestyle rapping and met cool people like @AnthonyMcG2!

Sunil Rajaraman

I'm decently networked in tech. But I joined @beondeck on the advice of @hnshah and @tylerwillis. I learned that networks need refreshing.

On Deck opened me up to a new set of amazing people I will invest in, be friends with, and follow for life.

FAQ

Who should apply?

To be a good fit for ODD, you are probably:

* Someone who recently moved into a management or leadership role as a Design Manager, Head of Design or Director. Or you’ve been doing this for a while and eager to increase your impact and accelerate your career.
* A Mid-Level, Senior, Lead and Principal designer. You are exploring a path to management & leadership, and looking for a safe space to do so.
* Eager to be an active participant and contributor in a growing community, as much of the value of On Deck comes from the network and peer-to-peer connections.
* Excited about the opportunity to collaborate with other fellowships like founders, no-code, climate tech, writers and others.

What does it cost?

Joining the On Deck Deck Designer Fellowship is $1,990.

For this first inaugural cohort, we’re offering the program at an early-bird rate of $1,990, with the cost rising for subsequent cohorts.

Are there financing or scholarship options available?

Yes!
Our goal is to make ODD accessible to the absolute best talent, no matter their situation.

While many eligible applicants do have the means to support themselves, many others don’t. We’re excited to be able to offer scholarships thanks to the generosity of alumni and partners.

There are no fees to apply so please submit an application to be considered for ODD — we only ask about financial assistance requirements after fellows have been accepted in order to avoid discrimination during the evaluation process.

What is the time commitment?

ODD is a choose-your-own-adventure buffet. You get out what you put in: often, the biggest contributors are also the biggest beneficiaries.

Depending on your schedule and interests, you could choose to:

* Attend everything and “gorge” yourself on knowledge until you explode
* Tune in at your leisure to attend sessions that interest you
* Or just search the directory and connect with interesting people one-on-one

Is this a fully remote program?

Yes: ODD will be run entirely remotely. This enables participation from all corners of the world. We’ve spent the past few ODF cohorts mastering the playbook for building remote communities and relationship building online, and will apply the same approach here.

Post-COVID, we’ll return to organizing offline programming like dinners, small gatherings, and retreats, but the core Fellowship will remain a remote-first experience.

What are the demographics of the Fellowship?

We’re aiming to build a cohort that is diverse across race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality, national origin, professional background, age, viewpoint, and subject matter—you name it!

Since this is the first cohort of ODD, we don’t yet have specific demographics for this program, but we released a demographic breakdown for ODF5 that can serve as a useful comparison.

What are the Guiding Values of On Deck?

On Deck lives by four core guiding values, crucial to the culture we strive to foster in the community:

* Service: On Deck is bigger than any one person. For this community to thrive, it must be driven by a spirit of service to others. Be generous with your time, knowledge, and support. Karma has a way of finding its way back.

* Sacredness: By default, everything is off the record. Many in this group are searching for something deeper in their lives or making big transitions, and others may not yet have publicly shared this with friends, family, or employers. Please honor that, and avoid sharing anything you learn about each other without explicit permission.

* Respect: You are all now part of the On Deck family. You’re all embarking on what will surely be a rollercoaster of a journey — but you’re in this shared experience together. With that comes a sense of responsibility: be inclusive, stick together, and respect one another.

* Gratitude: have a spirit of curiosity and gratitude. We’re bringing together a group of fascinating people, most of whom likely have never met each other…how amazing is that? Get to know each other, and make the cohort what you want it to be for yourself.

How long will I have access to the community?

After the fellowship, you’ll retain access to your cohort and be able to subscribe to Membership for continued access to the On Deck ecosystem.

Did we miss your question? Drop us a line and we will get back to you asap.
