Van Nguyen

Life after @beondeck is crazy good! The network is so powerful. @Auroreserete’s ODF cohort hasn’t even started yet and despite that she has helped me connect with 4 potential customers in completely new/different markets in record time. Thank you!

Chris Horne

Just over halfway through my @beondeck fellowship experience and might as well say: joining is one of the best decisions I've ever made. Everyone is AMAZING, friendly, and EXTREMELY helpful. The talks are tactical and directly applicable. Nothing but ❤️

Harvey Multani

@beondeck will do for human capital what @AngelList did for financial capital

Crystal Chan

@beondeck for me has been friends, confidants, experts, and advisors all bundled in one amazing community of people.

It’s the vibe of childhood play groups, late night talks, college discussions, weekend hackathons, and so much more.

No better way to step into 2021.

Michael Houck

Pre @beondeck: Vague ideas + working alone + unclear paths forward

Post @beondeck: More defined ideas than I have time for + 2 cofounders who love to hustle + a growing, unique business

CS Freeland

Wish I was a part of every @beondeck cohort lol. What a badass concept, and they are really changing the game. Can’t wait to see the outcomes next year.

Hiten Shah

I had a blast chatting with the @beondeck community earlier today.

They were super engaged, thoughtful and curious.

I say no to most things, this group (virtually like today and in-person) is something special in a weird, unexplainable but awesome way.

Arwina Mogul

I have this theory that if I joined @beondeck sooner, I would've avoided many early-stage founder mistakes. I implore any early-stage founder to check out the fellowship. It will extend your financial, emotional, and mental runway.

Hugo Amsellem

I wanted to write again and @BeOnDeck launched the Writer Fellowship.

Then I wanted to start a podcast and they announced the Podcast Fellowship.

Now I'm thinking about becoming a YouTuber...

TAKE MY MONEY.

Matt Alston

The two best decisions I made in 2020 were leaving my job to start a company with @MelissaZhang13, and joining @beondeck.

Pretty wild how much On Deck has grown and evolved in just the last 6 months. Can’t event imagine what it’ll look like a year from now 🚀

Katherine Lynn

I continue to be impressed with the overall program, caliber of fellows, and the ODF employees! (Plus some sweet music playlists during events and I got to practice rap w/ @eriktorenberg during kickoff.)

Happy to be in ODF5!

Celine Halioua

So thankful for the personal and strategic support (not to mention emotional!) On Deck provided for the last 2 months. Love the team & couldn’t recommend them more.

Happy to chat about my experience + refer.

Gale Wilkinson

Highly recommend @beondeck for angels and founders. I have learned a lot so far in their angel program.

Jason Jacobs

I saw two ways to describe @beondeck yesterday, both of which struck a chord.

1) SV in the cloud

2) this generation’s “just do it”

I’m long @beondeck!

Ellie Howard

Just had the nth conversation with a fellow ODFer who feels, like me, that @beondeck has meant they've finally found 'their people'. @david__booth @eriktorenberg @julianweisser and the team are alchemists ✨#ODF7

The On Deck Method

We're building a modern educational institution that redefines how community and learning come together. Being part of any On Deck program means you’ll have access to a community of world-class professionals. With every new program we launch and cohort we start, your network gets stronger.

Here are the cornerstones of the On Deck experience:

Peer to Peer

Our 8- to 10-week-long virtual fellowships provide members with community, education, and support. This is a place for cohort-style learning, but also deep personal connections.

Unparalleled Knowledge

There are limitless opportunities for learning and sharing here. You’ll get access to expert speakers, office hours, build weekends, and our session library full of curated content. Dig in!

For All Identities

We’re proud to have a community diverse in culture, thought, and life experiences. This enables revolutionary ideas, inclusive solutions, and boundless growth opportunities.

Scaled with software

We’re building in-house tools to improve how we share community knowledge, aligned opportunities, and helpful connections.

Engineered serendipity

When everyone is going through a shared experience and seeking similar goals, incredible things happen. It’s like walking into a party where everyone is single. FUN.

Spirit of Service

One of the things we love most about our community is how willing and excited members are to support one another. This spirit is the strong heartbeat at On Deck

FAQ

Who should apply?

To be a good fit for ODD, you are probably:

* Someone who recently moved into a management or leadership role as a Design Manager, Head of Design or Director. Or you’ve been doing this for a while and eager to increase your impact and accelerate your career.
* A Mid-Level, Senior, Lead and Principal designer. You are exploring a path to management & leadership, and looking for a safe space to do so.
* Eager to be an active participant and contributor in a growing community, as much of the value of On Deck comes from the network and peer-to-peer connections.
* Excited about the opportunity to collaborate with other fellowships like founders, no-code, climate tech, writers and others.

What does it cost?

Joining the On Deck Deck Designer Fellowship is $1,990.

For this first inaugural cohort, we’re offering the program at an early-bird rate of $1,990, with the cost rising for subsequent cohorts.

Are there financing or scholarship options available?

Yes!
Our goal is to make ODD accessible to the absolute best talent, no matter their situation.

While many eligible applicants do have the means to support themselves, many others don’t. We’re excited to be able to offer scholarships thanks to the generosity of alumni and partners.

There are no fees to apply so please submit an application to be considered for ODD — we only ask about financial assistance requirements after fellows have been accepted in order to avoid discrimination during the evaluation process.

What is the time commitment?

ODD is a choose-your-own-adventure buffet. You get out what you put in: often, the biggest contributors are also the biggest beneficiaries.

Depending on your schedule and interests, you could choose to:

* Attend everything and “gorge” yourself on knowledge until you explode
* Tune in at your leisure to attend sessions that interest you
* Or just search the directory and connect with interesting people one-on-one

Is this a fully remote program?

Yes: ODD will be run entirely remotely. This enables participation from all corners of the world. We’ve spent the past few ODF cohorts mastering the playbook for building remote communities and relationship building online, and will apply the same approach here.

Post-COVID, we’ll return to organizing offline programming like dinners, small gatherings, and retreats, but the core Fellowship will remain a remote-first experience.

What are the demographics of the Fellowship?

We’re aiming to build a cohort that is diverse across race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality, national origin, professional background, age, viewpoint, and subject matter—you name it!

Since this is the first cohort of ODCT, we don’t yet have specific demographics for this program, but we released a demographic breakdown for ODF5 that can serve as a useful comparison.

What are the Guiding Values of On Deck?

On Deck lives by four core guiding values, crucial to the culture we strive to foster in the community:

* Service: On Deck is bigger than any one person. For this community to thrive, it must be driven by a spirit of service to others. Be generous with your time, knowledge, and support. Karma has a way of finding its way back.

* Sacredness: By default, everything is off the record. Many in this group are searching for something deeper in their lives or making big transitions, and others may not yet have publicly shared this with friends, family, or employers. Please honor that, and avoid sharing anything you learn about each other without explicit permission.

* Respect: You are all now part of the On Deck family. You’re all embarking on what will surely be a rollercoaster of a journey — but you’re in this shared experience together. With that comes a sense of responsibility: be inclusive, stick together, and respect one another.

* Gratitude: have a spirit of curiosity and gratitude. We’re bringing together a group of fascinating people, most of whom likely have never met each other…how amazing is that? Get to know each other, and make the cohort what you want it to be for yourself.

Did we miss your question? Drop us a line and we will get back to you asap.
