On Deck Catalyst (ODC)
Accelerate your path to changing the world. With incredible peers.
On Deck Catalyst is a remote program for young leaders who want to solve the world’s most pressing problems and take an unconventional path to building their career. We combine an in-depth curriculum with a world-class community to help you make an impact on the world.
Application Deadline: December 7, 2021.
Kickoff: January 8, 2022.
"ODC has supercharged my startup’s growth by guiding me to prioritize & laser-focus on what matters, while expanding the spectrum of my interests and network far beyond my expectation."
"If you are someone who likes to take risks and unapologetically follow your curiosity, ODC is the community for you. ODC connected me to ambitious thinkers and builders from all over the world."
"Most of the people taking part in ODC are going to change the technology industry as we know it in the next 20 years. I’ve only met incredible, ambitious leaders, who no matter what will lend you a hand when you need it."
"ODC helped me find a close-knit community of passionate, ambitious and kind people from all over the world. The opportunity to learn from each other and industry mentors so closely is unparalleled and has provided me with resources to strategically think about how I want to advance my career."
"ODC has been one of the highlights of my summer. “Spirit of service” isn’t just a catchphrase, but a behavior that I’ve seen exemplified by every fellow that I’ve met. I’ve been able to get plugged into a community of like-minded individuals who are more than willing to share knowledge, impart wisdom, forge connections, and above all spread positivity."
"ODC is home to the most diverse group of people I have ever met. Only at On Deck can you accidentally find yourself in the same zoom call as a UFOlogist, a MetaVerse founder and a Quantum Computing specialist talking about the creator economy."
"ODC has allowed me to expand my network exponentially without getting out of my room, sitting on the other side of the world! It has allowed me to have a glimpse of the bright future ahead!"
"ODC is so perfectly curated that even the most randomly allocated meet-ups are certain to convert into profound, lasting, global and ultimately life-defining collaborations."
"Through ODC, I’ve met people that are not only working on the coolest things but are also the kindest and most helpful people. I’ve gotten a ton of actionable advice for my startup, warm investor intros and leads for fundraising."
"ODC has been amazing for connecting with amazing people doing really cool things all over the world. It has been a very supportive community and joining was definitely one of the best decisions I made this year!"
"ODC is the community I reach out to when I have an idea, a burning question, or the urge to meet new people! It's supportiveness, structure, and diversity all in one place. Even while joining from the other side of the world, I felt connected and accepted in every way. I'd recommend this experience to everyone!!"
"ODC introduced me to the crowd of people that I desperately wanted more of in college: diverse, ambitious, and kind friends with a bias-toward-action. Being around them has inspired me to break away from my geography’s norm, reminded me of my unique strengths, and given me the well-founded confidence, network, and strategies for making progress on big goals."
"The best thing about ODC is the community, so diverse yet the synergy is there!"

To be a good fit for ODC, we're not looking for a particular role or background. You may be a founder, investor, or have any role in the tech industry. The most important qualities are:
- Unapologetic ambition — You're career-driven and want to have a massive impact on the world
- Independent thinker — You are willing to take the less-safe route, maybe even look dumb for a few years, to have a better payoff in the future
- Humility & spirit of service — You don't take yourself too seriously, you believe there's something to learn from everyone, and you love giving back
You might look like...
- A college dropout who built a nuclear fusion reactor in your basement
- A new grad who's working for a prominent solo GP as you build your own investing track record on the side
- A B2B SaaS startup founder who feels isolated as you scale your team beyond 50 employees
- A young longevity researcher looking to get plugged into Silicon Valley in the cloud after years in academia
- Or something else! Tell us your unique story, we would love to hear it.
Joining ODC is $2,490. We have limited scholarships available for each cohort thanks to our Access Fund. Information about scholarship applications will be provided to accepted Fellows closer to the kickoff date.
Our goal is to make the Fellowship accessible to the absolute best talent, no matter their financial situation.
All Fellows have the option to pay in four monthly installments (with no interest or additional charges). We also have a limited number of scholarships available thanks to our Access Fund. Information about scholarship applications will be provided to accepted Fellows closer to the kickoff date. We have need-blind admissions, so decisions about scholarship opportunities will be presented post-acceptance.
ODC is a choose-your-own-adventure buffet. You get out what you put in: often, the biggest contributors are also the biggest beneficiaries.
Depending on your schedule and interests, you might...
- Attend the majority of live sessions, chat in Slack all day, and meet 15 new fellows a week in 1-on-1 calls
- Tune in at your leisure, attending a couple of sessions that interest you each week and connecting with people based on specific similarities
- Search Slack and the Directory to find the specific people and sessions you want to engage with, but otherwise take a lighter approach.
You can do what works for you! Most ODC Fellows have full-time jobs or startups, so our programming is designed with that in mind. Check out an example programming calendar for ODC2 here.
We offer rolling admissions for Catalyst so the sooner you apply, the sooner you can be accepted into the cohort. As the cohort does fill up throughout the application period, we encourage you to apply early so that you have a better chance of being accepted.
In particular, if you apply by the Early-Bird deadline (November 15, 2021), you will definitely be considered for the upcoming cohort. If you wait until the final deadline (December 7, 2021.), the cohort may fill up and you will be considered for the following cohort.
Yes: ODC will be run entirely remotely. This enables participation from all corners of the world. We’ve spent the past year mastering the playbook for building remote communities and relationship building online, and will apply the same approach here.
We'll have some casual in-person meetups in locations where restrictions allow, however, the core Fellowship will remain a remote-first experience.
After one year of membership, you will have the opportunity to renew your membership. If you choose not to renew your membership, you will lose access to all On Deck platforms, networks, and content.
